Vintage Print. Signed in Plate. 9” T x 14” W. “The Celebrated Trotting Mare Lucy, Passing the Judges Stand. In the Fourth Heat – Winning the $5,000 Prize at Buffalo, N.Y. August 9th 1872.” Time 2:17 ¼. Lucy was a winning trotter and great money winner in the 1870s. According to Wallace’s Monthly, Lucy was said to have generally played second fiddle to Lady Thorn, but was in some respects the superior and proved so on more than one occasion.
