Jeb Stuart was foaled in 1930 in Louisville, KY. He soon earned the title Reserve World’s Champion Five-Gaited Gelding in 1938. He was owned by pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly of Fairmount Farm, Indianapolis, IN, and ridden by the farm’s trainer Tillman Bubenzer, who also served as Lilly’s gardener, chauffeur, and farm manager. Mogul, philanthropist, preservationist, and admirer of American Saddlebreds, Eli Lilly was one of the first donors to the American Saddlebred Museum.
