Pair of Original Charcoals. Signed and Dated 1934. 21ÔÇØ T x 30ÔÇØ W. Imported Hackney stallion Thornhome as seen in George Ford MorrisÔÇÖ 1934 Annual of Stars. Thornhome, foaled in 1919, was bred by Enoch Glenn of Bathgate, Scotland. He stood at stud in the 1930s at Dicksfield Farm, owned by the founders of the A.B. Dick Adding Machine Company, and later at Fieldview Farm, owned by Mr. & Mrs. Donald Ormsby Page, where he was known as Fieldview Thornhome. The Hackney breeding stallion Hamilton Model II was named after his illustrious sire Hamilton Model due to his same compact form and brilliant all around action. His dam, Harvieston Gem by Carleton Wonder, was one of the best and most high quality imported Hackneys of the day. Hamilton Model II was considered one of the top young pony stallions in America in the 1920s. He was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ormsby PageÔÇÖs Fieldview Farm, Far Hill, NJ. An exquisite pair of original charcoals by Morris.
